Your Gifts to the AusHEAL Congo Project will inspire HOPE to the staff of HEAL Africa Hospital, & the people of Eastern DR Congo by empowering them to provide the best possible health care.

FUNDS DONATED WILL SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING ONGOING REGULAR ACTIVITIES OF THE AusHEAL Congo Project:

  • Additional support for AusHEAL team members to teach and train through annual visits
    • (all team members are volunteers & self-funded)
  • Ongoing teaching and training of HEAL Africa Hospital staff DR Congo
  • Short-Term-Development-Grants to enable Hospital medical and allied health staff to visit other African hospitals for up to 1 month
  • Training of rural doctors in basic Essential and Emergency Surgery
  • Fund the provision of in-hospital medical care for those living in genuine poverty
  • Strategic equipment to enhance medical care at HEAL Africa Hospital.
  • Ongoing IT upgrade to facilitate sustainable effective functioning of the hospital and allow on-line training

SPECIFIC FUNDS ARE REQUIRED IN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS FOR 2 STRATEGIC PROJECTS:

  •  Completion of the structural fit-out of the HEAL Africa-AusHEAL Training Centre:

Construction by AusHEAL of this Training Centre building is already being funded by generous Australian donors. Adequate internal facilities are still needed. Training equipment will be installed as the result of a grant from the Direct Aid Program of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Training Centre will empower Congolese specialists (whose specialist training was sponsored by AusHEAL) to now train others. Such training will create sustainability and allow healthcare transformation.

  •  Structural improvement and expansion of the HEAL Africa Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit:

Needed improvements and expansion will empower HEAL Africa’s (only DR Congo) Emergency Specialist (whose training was sponsored by AusHEAL) to provide better emergency & critical care, together with establishing an Emergency Medicine training site for doctors & nurses from within DR Congo.
